Triptych

The idea for the triptych is a take on the cult of Virgin Mary and medieval mysticism, with aesthetic inspiration from Greek orthodox monasticism.

The triptych opens up and reveals cryptic messages held by androgynous figures. The blooming plants of thistles, white lilies and poppies are inspired by Christian/Catholic symbolism and co-relates with the motifs in each individual painting. The surrounding paintings and objects in this room are both abstract and figurative, with different suggestive invitations to the metaphysical realm.
